Tray Loader

        The Hurst Trayloader is a unique new, simple and economical system of vial trayloading employing large diameter ( slow moving ) index wheels to receive vials from any source, sequentially pushing vials slightly uphill into an accumulating area to automatically collect into a gravity compressed hexagonal pattern. Accumulated vials are manually shuttled into either of two removable telescoping trays.
        The Hurst Trayloader handles a wide range of vial sizes (2ml to 100ml) at speeds to 420 vials per minute. Changeover is fast and easy with each vial size requiring a matching drop-on index wheel.

 Special Features:
        The fixed outer diameter of the index wheel track of the Hurst Trayloader is 17.125" allowing very slow speed rotation of full-pocketed index wheels. This results in high output with minimal vial shock and noise.   The Hurst Trayloader accumulation area's slight upward incline stabilizes top-heavy vials to automatically collect in a gravity compressed hexagonal pattern.   The Hurst Trayloader has a unique 'downed vial' escapement capability with back-up emergency shut-down.   The Hurst Trayloader can selectively regulate vial flow direction into either right or left traying areas providing exact trayed vial count. This optional feature is used in conjunction with a variably preset 'countdown' type counter.  The Hurst Trayloader is designed to accommodate stainless steel, plastic, or corrugated trays.

Tray Unloader

        The Hurst automatic vial Tray Unloader (Patented USA 2003) uses gravity to cascade bottles down a solid Teflon™ slide into a full-pocketed, high-output, low rpm, tilted index wheel. The unique one-piece articulator automatically corrects all vials to a vertical axis prior to discharging bottles onto an adjoining conveyor.

        The Hurst Corporation has specialized in innovated label removal systems for over twenty years.  The Hurst "Labelstripper" machine is the world standard for label removal in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industries. The Hurst LabelStripper automatically removes both label and adhesive.

        The LS200C, our seventh generation, LabelStripper is a compact, vertical lathe with specially designed, non-scratching, air-cushioned blades that follow the exact contours of spinning glass bottles, removing both label and adhesive as an integral unit.

Label Removal System

                            - Plastic & Aluminum

        Hurst patented 'DL' series label delamination machines provide a cost effective method for removing pressure sensitive labels from plastic bottles and aluminum canisters.
 

Method of Operation

        Hurst 'DL' series machines employ a high technology pressure sensitive tape to instantly bond to the top printed surface layer of a pressure sensitive label. As the tape is removed, the top printed surface layer of the label delaminates from the label's bottom adhesive layer.  In a typical 3-layer paper pressure sensitive label, a micro-thin skin of the labels middle pulp layer and the entire bottom adhesive layer remain. This residue is assimilated into  the adhesive layer of a new secondary label. (normally a slightly larger, wraparound, overlapping label) No trace of the first label is evident. In a typical 2-layer film type label (PVC or Mylar) Hurst delamination tape ideally removes both the top printed layer and the bottom adhesive layer as an integral unit.
        Hurst DL machines are custom built to meet specific applications. Typically, DL machines are simple, inexpensive and readily available.  Hurst delaminating tape features a 2 mil flood coated hot melt adhesive (pstc test #1 rating:90) as laid on a tough polyester film.  Any roll width is available.
 
Hurst 'DL' series label removing machine effectiveness is dependent on several factors:
  • Surface coating of top printed label layer
  • Bonding properties of the middle pulp layer
  • Adhesive properties of the labels bottom layer

In addition to Hursts's previous rack and cart offerings, Hurst Corporation announces a patented line of custom designed stainless steel carts developed especially for facilitating washing and sterilization. All Hurst carts feature .125” wall 316L TIG welded tubular frames with a wide variety of shelving.  Laminar Flow Carts are also available.

• Fully removable .25” stainless steel casters housings.
• Perforate, imperforate and wire mesh shelving is available to meet all requirements.
